On the occasion of the bicentenary of the Congregation, the Sisters of Charity arrived in India, in Tamil Nadu, to respond to an appeal from the Bishop. They immediately began a collaboration with the local parish and the Children for Unity movement, serving the most disadvantaged children in the area and wishing to make a path of growth with the Sisters.

The main services in which the Sisters are engaged:

Currently the Sisters are present in 5 localities and offer in each reality a ministry service in the parishs and specifically a service of education with the school in Bangalore and at the school of the Diocese in Mandideep and with the youth hostel in Nadaikkavu; a service to the elderly and to poor and abandoned women with various types of discomfort in Palavilai; and charitable services in collaboration with the parish in the other realities.
