Community Volunteer Saturday, Lambare, Paraguay.

Earth Day reminds us of the importance of taking care of our planet and preserving its resources with actions that reduce environmental damage thus ensuring better life expectancy for future generations.

This was understood by the children and families of the “St. Jeanne Antida Center” in Lambare, Paraguay, coordinated by Sister Noemi D., who took to the streets to invite their neighbors from the neighborhoods of San José and Villa Angélica and asked for the support of the municipality’s vehicles to carry out together on Saturday, April 22, the “Minga de limpieza II,” that is, “community volunteering” for the benefit of the community.

Families and children spent the morning in the sun, skirting the creek and picking up garbage from the streets surrounding the center, amid laughter and warnings of “…Be careful with that!”

At the end there is still strength for a photograph with a smiling face and a heart full of joy of another step taken “from the square we have to the square we want“.

Congratulations to all! It is a beautiful way to participate in collective networks that contribute to a dynamism of lasting change (From the Acts of Chapter 2021).

Indeed, our planet still has the opportunity to reduce its negative environmental impact. Everything is in the hands of its only inhabitants with the ability to reason, which are human beings. New generations are growing up sensitized by schools, but it is time “to take action“, and what better occasion than this day? No one can do it alone, but everyone can do his or her part.
