La Plata: the welcome of a new parish priest always fills a community with expectation and enthusiasm. This is what happened in the parish of St Anthony of Padua in La Plata, capital of the province of Buenos Aires, when the arrival of Father Cristian Gonzálvez was announced.
Everyone was ‘on the move’ to clean, tidy, decorate… and prepare as best they could for the party, so that he could feel welcome and at home.
When the ladies sat down with Sister Caty to think about what to do, they felt it was a wonderful opportunity to put into ‘action’ everything they had been thinking about regarding the care of the Common House, because ‘EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED WITH EVERYTHING’.
And they set to work “reducing” the waste that they “reused” or “recycled” to create beautiful centrepieces, suovenir and room decorations, sharing and growing the bonds that unite them in a simple and joyful atmosphere of service.
