in September we lived numerous events, mainly dedicated to Synodality and the Care of Creation and characterized by the need of “Togetherness” to weave fraternity.
In the sign of “Togetherness,” an ecumenical prayer vigil was held in St. Peter’s Square on the 30th Sept, 2023 in the presence of Pope Francis and representatives of different Churches. Numerous young people, between the ages of 18 and 35 from all over Europe and from all ecclesial realities, attended.
Those of the Synod are decisive works for the future of the Church: “We are here to walk together under the gaze of Jesus – these are the words of Pope Francis – who blessed the Father and welcomed those who are weary and oppressed. Let us therefore start from the gaze of Jesus, which is a blessing and welcoming gaze“.
From Sept. 1st to the 4th Oct, the Christian family also united around the world in prayer and action for the Common Home, in the Season of Creation. The theme: “Let Justice and Peace Flow”.
“Togetherness” has, therefore, placed the month of September in the broad reflection of union as a people on a journey, reminding us that being a community, yet without losing one’s identity, is a point of strength while facing the challenges of the world and the horizons with which Pope Francis continues to challenge societies.
