We hear more testimonies from communities in Vietnam, Paraguay, Albania, and Cameroon on the initiatives put in place for Laudato Si’ Week 2024.

Children, adults, families were also involved in these different realities: ‘The earth we have received also belongs to those who will come. The environment is in the logic of receiving. It is a loan that each generation receives and must pass on to the next generation’ (LS, 159).

In this fundamental perspective, new and more respectful habits towards our neighbour and creation must be acquired and carried forward.

In Vietnam, the community celebrated Laudato Si’ Week together with kindergarten children. The children learned about waste classification and how to grow green vegetables.

During the week of Laudato Si’, with the invitation to be sowers of Hope, the boys and girls attending the St. Jeanne A. Center in Lambare, Paraguay, sowed small seeds representing Life and its care.

The boys first presented the seeds to Mary, a woman who cares for Life and leads us to the only hope-Jesus.

Beekeeping awareness was held on May 20 in Rubik, Rreshen and Perlat, Albania.

In Cameroon, Ngaoundal, an awareness session was held with girls from the Women’s Training Center on environmental protection. The goal was to reduce the use of plastic and recycle household waste.

From the community of St. Augustine, Vietnam, comes a video summary of activities with younger people.

Back in Paraguay, talks on “Mental Health and Well-Being” were held on May 22 at St. Francis of Assisi Chapel of St. Catherine of Siena Parish-Fernando de la Mora on the occasion of Laudato Si’ Week.

The speaker: Magister Lic. Psychologist Lina Fernández.

LS facilitator, ASJA: Arnaldo Ramirez.

In Sarzana, Italy, the feast of St. Jeanne Antide was celebrated in the school park.

Surrounded by carefully guarded and protected greenery, the community praised and thanked the Lord for the gift of Creation that gladdens hearts and helps to be kinder in interpersonal relationships.

We will continue, in the coming days, to tell you about the activities carried out during Laudato Si’ Week throughout the SdC world.
