Ten days in Rome, with refugees and asylum seekers taken care of by Centro Astalli (Jesuit Refugee Service), accompanied by Sr Ramona. The four young volunteers will serve at the Astalli Canteen and at the Pedro Arrupe Centre, coordinated by Sister Paola A.
The summer experience is part of a youth pastoral project involving a rather wide network: together with Sister Melissa, preparatory meetings have been organised and the four young women have animated a series of awareness-raising and fund-raising initiatives at the Immaculate Conception School in Tarxien and other nice initiatives, including a barbecue with more than 100 people.
Before leaving, during an intense Eucharistic celebration, the young women received ‘the mandate’.
They will serve from 24 July to 3 August 2024. We wish them an experience of the Gospel lived and shared.
