You are the vine, and we are the branches!
Saint Jeanne Antide said that, “she would have crossed the seas” (from the “Supreme Witnessing” written after the death of Mother Thouret). In this famous expression, we recognise Jeanne Antide’s missionary zeal. She is fully certain that “our neighbour is everywhere, God is everywhere and that is enough for us!”
Just after the opening of the Holy Door, we can also fi nd in it, the echo of the great “jubilee sign of the pilgrimage”: a call to set out not only physically but also spiritually, for an inner transformation that radiates out over all aspects of our existence. “Crossing the seas”: taking a distance from the world, consists in a new inner birth in view of a renewed relationship with God, alongside a renewed relationship with the brothers and sisters.
