From 27 to 31 January 2025, in the beautiful mountain setting of La Roche, the General Council met with the Councils of the Besançon-Savoie and Euro-Mediterranean Provinces:“May this year of grace, namely the Jubilee, urge us on to open ourselves up boldly to share with our presence in Europe today, the light of hope and faith. This Faith must be transformed into Charity in everyday life” , from Mother General Sister Maria Rosa’s Circular to the Sisters in Europe on the occasion of the Anniversary of the Canonisation of St. Jeanne Antide Thouret, 14 January 2025.
“As Jeanne Antide herself said, the Congregation «is God’s work» – Mother Maria Rosa writes again – Today, we must also assume this certainty and live with this same trust: we are merely instruments and we are being asked to look at the future with hope.
We must listen to the voice of the Spirit who speaks in us and in our communities, so that we may collaborate in the realisation of His will.
At this time in our history as Congregation, while looking with gratitude at our experiences, our hearts needs to be firmly rooted in hope. To have hope means to stand up, to get up and follow something, follow somebody, to build without giving up. To have hope means to go forward together to work in a different way. May the power of hope fill our hearts and all our work!
“Let us journey as a Family who wants to share the same vision and the same concrete and living charism, certainly with different perspectives. But we must be all focused on the source of Life, because the challenges created by reality and the complexity of the world situation need communities who are united by a mission; they need persons and communities, who with solid commitments, seek creative and hope-bearing answers”.
