As everyday morning the day started with the Eucharistic celebration in the chapel of General House.
At 9.30 the chapter members gathered in the hall. Sr.Pascale presided the meetings and after greeting the sisters she passes the word to Alessandro for a short reflection on the gospel of the day. He started his reflection quoting a verse of Mat 10: 7-25 “ … on the way”. Why, according to you, this expression?
“Because Jesus loves the man who is in journey… because the proclamation of the Kingdom cannot wait… perhaps because Jesus wants to assure us, telling us that he knows the way and it is his duty to lead us”.
The chapter members having read the Basic Document at the light of the convictions and priorities which emerged from the Chapter assembly, tried to understand what it means for a Sister of Charity the expression: “to be a outreaching missionary”. (sharing the group work of yesterday).
Soon after the sharing of each group, there was the debate on the concepts of “culture” and “multiculturality”.
After the break, the groups shared those which can be the priorities, for the next five years, some of which are : the intercultural communities, the youth, the existential peripheries, the initial formation, foundation places and sabbatical experience, and the common spiritual itinerary.
The debate in the hall entailed everyone. It took more time than what it was foreseen and it was necessary to continue the debate in the afternoon.
At the conclusion of works, the chapter members welcomed the lay people, Friends of Jeanne Antide, who hails from different countries. The day concluded with a celebration of welcoming of the FJA.
