Being a Friend of Saint Jeanne-Antide – AJA – means understanding that to follow Jesus and be his true disciple, I need to let myself be guided and abandon myself to “God Alone”. Only through God can I live my life to the full

Being a Friend of Saint Jeanne-Antide means choosing and “opting” always for the brother or sister most in need.

Getting to know and be part of this Group has been very important in my Christian life, because even though I said I followed Jesus, I was able to learn from Jeanne-Antide’s example what it means to let oneself be guided by the Holy Spirit.

It’s incredibly inspiring to learn about Jeanne-Antide’s life and see all that she did with her cunning and intelligence in an era with such difficult barriers.

So being a Friend of Saint Jeanne-Antide means understanding that the unexpected happens, but if I surrender to God’s love, I will have the strength and wisdom necessary to overcome obstacles.

Our Group in Brazil is still considered young in Latin America, but we are no longer the youngest, with God’s grace. It’s fantastic to see how the charisma of Saint Jeanne-Antide is spreading; in Nova Serrana three groups of friends have sprung up.

Since last year, our parish has chosen to carry out missionary work in people’s homes. And we, the Friends of Saint Jeanne-Antide, are working hard in this mission to proclaim the Good News to those on the outskirts of our community.

We have chosen to walk together with the parish, participating in the Missions, taking on a life of prayer through adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, praying with the 24 hours of prayer for what this action asks of us and for our group and our community.

We work in communion with the Prison Ministry, helping in their actions to improve the lives of our imprisoned brothers and with the Solidarity Ministry, visiting families in need and helping as best we can.

With God’s grace and the joy of serving, we will continue to walk firmly, as Friends of Saint Jeanne-Antide.
