At the Beata NEMESIA high school in Bocaranga, Central African Republic – in response to an appeal by the youth pastoral ministry workshop in schools – a half-day retreat was organised on 28 March in the parish Notre Dame de la Garde on the theme ‘Walking together in hope’ (from Pope Francis’ Letter for Lent 2025).
The retreat was led by Father Jean Yves, a Capuchin.
All the pupils participated in this recollection, except some Muslim pupils who did not dare to enter the church but followed us from outside.
We concluded with a Mass celebrated by the parish priest, Capuchin Father Thomas Capuchin.
This Mass was led by the students themselves, while the readings and the universal prayer were done by the non-Catholic students.
Before leaving, some of the students expressed their feelings: joy, peace, etc.
