On the occasion of the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, February 2, 2025, the Day of Consecrated Life was celebrated in all the dioceses of the world: an event of witness and communion among all the male and female charisms that enrich the Church in contemplation and service.

In many cathedrals, the anniversaries of consecration were celebrated with particular solemnity: 25th, 50th and 60th anniversaries.

We also received a testimonial from the archdiocese of Malta, through the words of Sister Natalie A.

This Day is part of the journey that consecrated men and women are undertaking in view of the Jubilee of Consecrated Life that will be celebrated worldwide on October 8 and 9, 2025: “Pilgrims of hope, on the way of peace”.

The Jubilee of the religious in Malta was celebrated on the 2nd of February in the Parish of Zejtun, dedicated to Saint Catherine, during the evening mass.

All the religious were invited to meet in the chapel of a convent of the congregation of the Missionary Sisters of Jesus of Nazareth, where after the blessing of the candles they left on a pilgrimage to the Parish.

When the pilgrimage arrived at the Church, the Eucharistic celebration presided over by Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna continued.

A large number of monks and priests concelebrated. More than 500 monks and some lay people participated in this Jubilee.

During the homily, the archbishop focused on the main characters. He spoke of the prophetess Anna, who, despite her advanced age, entered the temple praising God, and he spoke of the person of Jesus. The Archbishop said:

“As long as the Lord gives you life, never tire of praising, praying and interceding for the world. Pray for vocations to the consecrated life, for the priesthood and for Christian marriage and for the blessing of children. Because your prayer, dear religious, is what keeps the Church one, holy, catholic. The Church, which is apostolic, needs your witness, your prayers, your daily offering. Live your offering as a magnet that draws the Lord’s mercy and the forgiveness of sins to our islands and to the world. Let us ask the Lord to be our life, our salvation, our glory and our light.”
