On 23 October 2023, the Consul General of France presented sister Pauline Massouh, Director of the Sainte Jeanne-Antide school in Alexandria, with the third grade (Commandeur) in recognition of her long and fruitful history in education.

Named “Chevalier”, then “Officier” and now “Commandeur”, France publicly recognises her infinite capacity to innovate, educate, train and support.

The story began in 1996, when the French ambassador in Cairo awarded her the title of “Chevalier”.

In 2012, she became an “Officier”, continuing her passionate commitment to French culture and her sacred mission to young people.

Following the example of St Jeanne-Antide, the Sisters of Charity continue to support young people and to open up new paths in the broad horizon of fraternity.
