At the end of the Season of Creation 2023, we want to tell you about the activities organized around the world in collaboration with the Sisters of Charity of Saint Jeanne Antide Thouret.

Message of Pope Francis for the Day of Creation 2023

This journey starts from Europe, in order to discover how much has blossomed within this precious time for the Care of Creation from Albania to Romania, from Spain to Italy, and on to Malta.

ALBANIA

Spreading the Season of Creation by translating the film “The Letter” into Albanian. Once translated, the film was shown to people in three communities. Cloth bags were produced for distribution and use instead of plastic bags.

ROMANIA

Sunday, September 11, recitation of the Rosary at the Catholic Cathedral in Timosoara.

SPAIN

On Sept. 22, 23 and 24, some members of the Spanish national équipe participated in a retreat on the theme “Ecology and Spirituality”, delving into the Encyclical Laudato Si’, according to the Ignatian method.

Contemplating in order to know. To know in order to love and in “everything to love and serve” especially the poorest and most vulnerable.

ITALY

Sarzana

A Holy Mass was celebrated in the school park at the “Pavone” school near Sarzana, a town in the province of La Spezia in Liguria, on the occasion of the Season of Creation.

The celebration was accompanied by the singing of the birds that populate it and the voices of the children who sang “Laudato Si’, mi’ Signore.”

It was, as described, by some grandparents present at the celebration, as an emotional moment in which everyone felt united to pray and to become faithful custodians of our Common Home.

Arpino

The AJA (Friends of Saint Jeanne Antide) Group of Arpino began the pastoral year with a Eucharistic celebration of suffrage for deceased Friends and an ecological workshop with children: “At the School of Water”.

Milan

IMITREK initiative for first and second grade secondary school children in Milan ITALY to experience a day together, TREKKING in contact with nature.

Pozzaglia Sabina

On August 23, together with the people of the village, a walk was organized to climb to the cross overlooking the village. There, people prayed the Laudato Si’ rosary for the entire population.

Brescia

In Brescia, a chestnut festival was held at the ‘S. MORETTI’ nursery school. During the event, the participants thanked the generosity of Mother Earth.

MALTA

The Season of Creation was celebrated from Sept. 1 to Oct. 4. A Mass was organized in the garden, in the Balzan community, together with some lay people. Father Mark Ciantar OFM helped the participants to appreciate the beauty of our Common Home.
