The General Council and the Euro-Mediterranean and Besançon-Savoie Councils met in La Roche from 19 to 23 October. The reason was a real challenge, demanding and involving: to promote, support and develop the mission of the whole Congregation.

Our Mother, sister Maria Rosa, in her Circular last July, addressed to “all the sisters of the European continent”, used a very strong term: we are in a phase of “co-creation”, during which we are called to take on new perspectives, to walk together, to boldly undertake processes of transformation and change.

The common steps towards the European horizon were at the Provincial Conferences of both Provinces, in Assisi and Sancey. Then, at the meeting in Borgaro Torinese last June, the two Provincial Councils made a commitment to progressively involve all the communities and sisters in this process of transformation that God is asking of us, to arrive in 2025 at a new territorial configuration of the Sisters of Charity in Europe.

This journey of transformation – Mother Maria Rosa stressed – is an opportunity to regain courage. Restructuring is like an “open door” on the future and on new possibilities, safeguarding, with the unity of the Congregation, the particularities of the different realities that are the richness of our religious Family.

So, forward with courage, as true daughters of Jeanne Antide!
