In Puerto Triunfo, as the world celebrates World Water Day with the slogan “Water for Peace”, we woke up and once again there was no water in the tap. This situation gave us food for thought for this very special day.
After listening to “the song of creation”, as we are doing every day during this time of Lent, we began to listen to “the cry of creation” that suffers because water is getting deeper and harder to find, because we go to look for it in streams and find it contaminated by pesticides dripping from the fields. or full of soil and sand that washes away every rain because the trees have been cut down.
We heard ‘the call to take care of it’ like our mothers who went to fix the problem at the well, not to waste it, to reuse it to clean the water from washing, and above all to thank God for this gift.
