From Malta, Romania, Albania and Italy, 17 young people have chosen to spend New Year’s Eve in an alternative way, alongside the needy guests of the Caritas Canteen at Termini Station in Rome. With them Sister Melania, Sister Rosaria, Sister Ramona, Sister Caterina, Sister Andreaa. The group is staying at the Generalate from 27 December to 2 January 2025. The mornings are devoted to prayer, service training, biblical study and in the afternoons, they go to the evening canteen at Termini station.

The Caritas Canteen in Via Marsala was set up to satisfy the primary need for food, and its main objective is the promotion of the person. Welcoming guests in a familiar and dignified environment, they make the meal an opportunity to establish a fraternal relationship between those who ask for help and the operators and volunteers who welcome them. The Canteen is integrated into a system of diocesan Caritas services for listening to and welcoming the needy: listening centres, parishes, hostels.
