Thanks to the generosity and help of numerous benefactors, the Thouret Foundation has the opportunity to support the Sisters of Charity of Damascus and the group of Lay Friends of Jeanne Antide who in various ways are close to displaced families.

Also through the direct reception of families: the night after the second earthquake, at dawn, a family formed by mother, father and two children, came from Ladikia with nothing, because it had lost everything.

The Sisters and Friends immediately offered them hospitality and currently a contribution that allows them to manage their needs independently.

Another way is collaboration with other organizations: thanks to the help received through the Thouret Foundation, the Sisters of Damascus can buy food, clothing and hygiene materials to be distributed to reception centers run by parishes and local religious congregations. They are also able to support with this material the Syrian families who welcome families and friends from the earthquake areas into their homes.

The network of aid that the sisters are weaving through donor support is really large and well-organized.
