The International Laboratory for Integral Ecology, on 22 March 2025, organised a meeting on training in sustainable water management, to celebrate World Water Day.
Water is God’s caress for humanity. This training, led by Professor Alessandro Ayessa, brought together all the territorial realities of the congregation.
We can conclude that water is essential for life in every corner of the world. From domestic to agricultural use, access to drinking water remains a major concern. Many countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia (Laos) do not have access to drinking water. The inhabitants of these countries travel long distances to find water, which they carry on their heads or in wheelbarrows. Planting trees means helping to heal our earth, which is suffering because of all the damage we are doing to it; unfortunately its plants are unable to grow due to lack of water.
The meeting ended with thanks to the speaker for his wonderful presentation.
Celebrating World Water Day means pausing to give thanks to God for the gift of water; committing ourselves to using water in a conscious and respectful way, thinking of those who are not lucky enough to have it at will.
In the global challenge, personal responsibility too
The global challenges that continue to engage states and governments on the sustainable use of water must intertwine with personal, family and local efforts. This commitment is equally necessary and calls each of us to make conscious choices.
Small but essential gestures to reduce water waste make a difference.
Everyday actions, apparently of little impact, prove to be fundamental for transforming daily life into a concrete source of change, already in the domestic environment.
Thanks to a few simple changes in daily habits, the same benefits can be obtained with less water consumption, thus avoiding unnecessary waste of this precious resource.
What can we do in practice?
